Multi-Channel Projection

LASALLE College of the Arts

16:9 is an installation of concrete blocks set together in a certain position and explores the idea of modularity and rapid urbanization. Using concrete as symbols of building blocks, 16:9 explores the concept of modular monumentality in building and creation. The reoccurrence of a face against the stalwart figure of the blocks has the effect of reflecting on the monumental and immutable an organic presence. As a video projection, the face fades in and out, reflecting the transience in the nature of building as a constantly evolving process.
